The construction quality of the geogrid produced by the geogrid production line equipment must comply with the construction requirements specified in the design and construction drawings. During the construction process, there must be no wrinkling, overlapping, twisting, and other phenomena. The geogrid also needs to be kept in a tight state to allow it to bear evenly. If it is manually tightened, the geogrid must be tightly attached to the ground, evenly stressed, and the surface must be flat, In addition, it is necessary to use pins to fix the geogrid to avoid displacement.


In order to optimize the number of reinforcement layers for geogrid reinforcement and widening of the roadbed, six different geogrid laying conditions were designed for deformation and stress comparative analysis. Condition 1: geogrid reinforcement not laid; Condition 2: Laying a layer of geogrid during the third roadbed filling; Condition 3: Lay one layer of geogrid during the second and fourth roadbed filling, totaling two layers; Condition 4: Lay one layer of geogrid during the first, third, and fifth roadbed filling, totaling three layers; Condition 5: Lay one layer of geogrid during the first, second, third, and fourth roadbed filling, totaling four layers; Condition 6: When filling each layer of roadbed, lay one layer of geogrid, totaling 5 layers.


What should be paid attention to when laying geogrid production line equipment to produce geogrids


1. The surface of the lower bearing layer for laying geosynthetic materials should be leveled, compacted, and hard protrusions on the surface should be removed.


2. The direction with high strength of geosynthetic materials should be placed in the main stress direction of the embankment.


3. The connection of geosynthetic materials should be firm, and the connection strength in the direction of stress should not be lower than the design tensile strength.


4. When laying geosynthetic materials, they must be tightened, flattened, and fixed with nails, and should be closely attached to the roadbed surface without wrinkles or twists.


When laying multi-layer geosynthetic materials, the upper and lower joints should be alternately staggered, and the staggered distance should not be less than 0.5m.


6. It is strictly prohibited for equipment such as rolling and transportation to directly roll or walk on geosynthetic materials.


The tension distribution of the geogrid gradually changes from a bimodal curve at adjacent layers of the cap to a more uniform curve at different layers of the cap. Geotextile is a permeable geosynthetic material made from synthetic fibers that are needle punched or woven. Geotextile is one of the new materials of geosynthetics, and the finished product is in the form of a cloth, with a width of 4-6 meters and a length of 50-100 meters. Geotextiles are divided into woven geotextiles and non-woven filament geotextiles.


After the use of geotechnical materials, the bearing capacity of the original foundation is increased, the mechanized construction conditions in the soft foundation area are improved, and the subsequent construction safety is ensured. When constructing roads on soft foundation, a large amount of upper or gravel filling is usually used. This method is expensive, has a long construction period, and there is a risk of vehicle sinking and death. The application of geotechnical materials fundamentally changes the construction process of soft foundation roads, saves engineering costs, and shortens the construction period.
