How to Select Honeycomb Panel Production Line Equipment According to Capacity Requirements

A honeycomb panel production line consists of feeding, gluing, laminating, curing, cutting, conveying and other units. Equipment configuration shall be comprehensively evaluated in combination with expected capacity, product specifications and material types to match enterprise production plans and avoid mismatch between equipment capacity and production targets.


Sort out basic production parameters in the early stage as the basis for equipment selection. Calculate planned daily and hourly output and confirm production shift arrangements. Clarify the width, thickness and single-piece length of honeycomb panels to be produced, and distinguish substrate types such as aluminum honeycomb and paper honeycomb. Sort out application scenarios of finished products, judge requirements for bonding and panel flatness, and summarize parameters for selecting each unit configuration of the production line.


Match core host configurations by capacity range. For low capacity demand with variable order batches, adopt production lines with simplified structure. Such equipment occupies small floor space and requires short time for disassembly and process adjustment, facilitating frequent specification changes and suiting small-batch and multi-order production. For medium capacity demand with relatively stable orders, select integrated continuous production lines with closely connected process units to reduce waiting time for material transfer and realize uninterrupted continuous production. For high capacity demand with large-volume and unified-spec orders, adopt extended laminating and curing sections equipped with multiple sets of synchronous conveying mechanisms to raise line speed, together with automatic feeding and unloading devices to eliminate rhythm restrictions caused by manual operation.


Select auxiliary machines synchronously matching the main line capacity. The processing capacity of glue coaters, hot-pressing curing equipment, cutting machines and dust removal devices shall correspond to the speed of the main line. When the main line speeds up, glue supply of gluing units, temperature control capacity of curing sections and cutting efficiency of cutting mechanisms need synchronous matching. Insufficient capacity of auxiliary machines will become bottlenecks restricting overall output. For raw material feeding and finished product unloading, automatic conveying mechanisms may be added according to capacity to save manual handling time.


Consider the impact of product specification switching on capacity. If orders require frequent adjustment of panel thickness and honeycomb core specifications, equipment structures easy to adjust are preferred. Commissioning time for specification change affects effective output; equipment adjustment procedures shall be assessed during selection. Some production lines require disassembly and recalibration for specification replacement with long single switching time, suitable for mass production of fixed products in long term.


Incorporate site and supporting conditions into selection evaluation. The total length, width and hoisting space of the production line shall be confirmed against actual workshop dimensions. Calculate workshop power, gas and heat supply requirements; high-power continuous production lines impose higher demands on energy supply. Space shall also be reserved for raw material storage, finished product temporary storage and waste collection. Smooth material flow is required to achieve the designed equipment capacity.


Reserve space for later capacity expansion and adjustment. If output increase is planned in the future, modular production lines can be evaluated during selection. Such lines can add modules such as curing sections and cutting units later without replacing the whole set of equipment. Confirm whether equipment interfaces and control systems support subsequent component installation during procurement to adapt to business scale changes.


On-site machine test verification and pre-delivery confirmation. After equipment selection, trial production can be arranged to measure actual output speed and finished product quality and verify whether the expected capacity can be achieved. Observe equipment startup and shutdown, specification switching and fault shutdown during trial production, and assess continuous stable running time.


Honeycomb panel production line selection centers on capacity demand and carries out overall planning combining product types, order characteristics and workshop conditions. Reasonably match configurations of main line and auxiliary machines, balance current production tasks and future business changes, so that equipment output capacity fits enterprise production plans.
